Friday Night Thunder, Season 4 gets up close and personal with the Indigenous sprint car drivers of Ohsweken Speedway as they share their lives on and off the track. Each Friday, these drivers compete in one of the most dangerous forms of grassroots racing, seeking a thrill and a win. But wins are hard-gotten at Ohsweken Speedway where the field of sprint car drivers are among some of the richest and best in North America.ย
Most of the Indigenous drivers are independent, without sponsorships or highly knowledgeable crews to help them out. They learn as they go and do a lot of work on their own cars while they hold down jobs and family responsibilities. But the most important thing is that every Friday, when they come together with their family and friends in the pits, theyโre having fun and making memories theyโll never forget. And while for some of them, the season is full of wrecks and heartaches, others find glory in the smallest of triumphs.
